Cookies
What cookies BeautyZilla actually sets on this site, why, and how to change your mind at any time.

How BeautyZilla asks
When you first visit beautyzilla.co, a banner offers two equally weighted choices: "Accept all" (enables analytics and marketing cookies below) or "Reject non-essential" (only strictly necessary cookies are set). Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies runs until you choose "Accept all". You can change your mind at any time using "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page.
The cookies we actually set
Strictly necessary
Always on — the site can't function without these, so no consent choice applies to them (UK PECR Regulation 6(4) exempts strictly necessary cookies from the consent requirement).
Analytics and marketing
Only set once you choose "Accept all", and only for whichever of the vendors below we've actually configured on this site at the time — you may see a subset of this list, not all of it.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
| bz_session | Keeps a salon owner/staff member signed in to their BeautyZilla account. | Session / up to 30 days | Strictly necessary |
| bz_consumer_session | Keeps a marketplace consumer signed in to their BeautyZilla account. | Session / up to 30 days | Strictly necessary |
| bz_consent | Remembers your cookie choice (accept all / reject non-essential) so we don't ask again every visit. | 180 days | Strictly necessary |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymised traffic and usage measurement. Set only after consent. | Up to 2 years | Analytics |
| _gtm, dataLayer | Google Tag Manager — loads other consented tags. Set only after consent. | Session | Analytics |
| _fbp, fr | Meta (Facebook) Pixel — measures and targets our own advertising. Set only after consent. | Up to 90 days | Marketing |
| _ttp | TikTok Pixel — measures and targets our own advertising. Set only after consent. | Up to 13 months | Marketing |
Third-party cookies
The analytics/marketing cookies above are set by third parties (Google, Meta, TikTok) once you consent — each vendor's own privacy policy governs how they use the resulting data beyond what we ask them to measure for us. We don't control those vendors' cookies directly, only whether their script loads on this site at all.
Your controls
You can control cookies in several ways, on top of our own banner:
- Use "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page to change your choice at any time.
- Enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in a supporting browser or extension — we honour it as an opt-out signal for analytics/marketing cookies, in line with US state privacy laws that require it.
- Block or delete cookies directly in your browser settings — note this may affect strictly necessary cookies too, which could sign you out or break booking flows.
Changes to this policy
If the cookies we set change — a new analytics tool, for example — we'll update the table above and the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
