Terms of service

These terms govern your use of BeautyZilla (the "platform", "service") — whether you're a salon owner or staff member with an account ("you", "salon"), or a consumer using our marketplace to search for and book appointments ("you", "consumer"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you're accepting on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to do so.

BeautyZilla plays three distinct roles, and it matters which one applies to a given piece of data:

• Your salon's own client data (client names, contact details, booking and purchase history, notes) — YOUR salon is the data controller. BeautyZilla is the data processor, and processes that data only on your documented instructions, to provide the platform, and under the security and confidentiality obligations of a processor. You remain responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use your clients' data, and for your own privacy notice to them.
• Your own salon-account data (your business details, login, billing) — BeautyZilla is the controller, as set out in our privacy policy.
• Marketplace consumers — when a consumer books through BeautyZilla's marketplace, BeautyZilla is the controller of the consumer's marketplace account and search activity, and a joint point of contact alongside the salon for the booking itself. The salon remains the party actually providing the service booked.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create a salon or consumer account.

Paid plans are billed on the cycle shown at signup, in the currency shown, and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices shown on our pricing page are confirmed at signup. Where a one-off setup fee applies to a plan, it is disclosed before checkout and is non-refundable once onboarding has begun, except where the applicable statutory refund rights below apply.

The Founding Salon lifetime ("for-life") offer is a one-off payment that grants ongoing access to the named plan's feature set for as long as BeautyZilla operates as a going concern, for the number of locations stated for that tier, subject to fair use and to SMS/WhatsApp messaging being billed separately at cost (these are pass-through carrier costs, not a BeautyZilla margin). Lifetime offer purchases carry a 60-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase — contact us within that window for a full refund, no reason required. Lifetime plans are personal to the purchasing salon and are not transferable to an unrelated business without our consent.

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose, or to store or transmit unlawful content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or another user's account.
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation, or attempt to reverse-engineer it.
• Use the marketplace to scrape, harvest or resell listing data outside the platform.

As the controller of your own clients' data, you're responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and process it (including any marketing consent you rely on to message your clients), for responding to your clients' own data-subject requests, and for using the platform in a way that's consistent with your own privacy notice to your clients. BeautyZilla will assist with data-subject requests where required under applicable data protection law, as set out in our standard processor terms.

Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor; we never store full card details ourselves. Subscription fees are generally non-refundable for partial billing periods, except as required by law or as set out for the lifetime offer above. Marketplace consumers' payments to a salon (deposits, purchases) are governed by that salon's own cancellation and refund policy, shown at the time of booking.

BeautyZilla and its licensors own all rights in the platform itself (software, design, trademarks). You retain all rights in your own content and data (your services, photos, and your clients' data). You grant us a licence to host, process and display that content solely to provide the platform to you and, where applicable, to consumers via the marketplace.

The marketplace lets you search for and book appointments with independent salons. BeautyZilla facilitates the booking but is not the provider of the beauty or grooming service itself — that contract is between you and the salon, on the salon's own terms and pricing. BeautyZilla is not responsible for the quality of a service performed by a salon, though we do want to hear about it if something goes wrong.

We aim for high availability but the platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without guaranteeing uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may suspend access for maintenance, security, or to comply with law, and will give notice where reasonably practicable.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeautyZilla's total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the greater of £100 or the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, revenue or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, including for non-payment or unlawful use, with notice where reasonably practicable. On termination, you can export your data for a reasonable period afterward, as described in our privacy policy.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — meaning you may also bring or defend proceedings in the courts of your own country if applicable local consumer-protection law gives you that right, and nothing here removes any mandatory statutory protection you're entitled to as a consumer in the UK, EU, US or Canada.

We may update these terms as the product or applicable law changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll take reasonable steps to notify salon owners in advance of the change taking effect.
